Atlantis Studios Adds “Haley” to
WebComics Line-up
March 1, 2005Franklin, MA - Atlantis
Studios is proud to announce the exclusive web publishing agreement
for the popular science fiction cult comic HALEY created by JAYMES,
beginning in March 2005. Haley is the story of a young woman who dies
in an airplane crash only to live on in the afterlife as a time
traveler caught in a time game played between God and the devil.
"Haley is Quamtum Leap meets Touched by an Angel meets Sliders.” Says
JAYMES. “Haley 'lands' as a human in each story to affect other humans
around her. They never see her true face until the end when she
delivers her message to the one most affected by her presence. Then
she ‘launches’ to somewhere else."
The concept for Haley was created as a way of dealing with the death
of Amber Hagermann, the girl for whom the present-day "Amber Alert" is
named. When Amber was found dead after her kidnapping and murder in
1996, JAYMES attended the funeral along with several hundred others
who had been drawn into this little girl's life. “I was compelled to
create a character whose life was affected by early death and by
sudden tragedy... but who could fix things for the better.”
Haley is being web-published exclusively by 10-year veteran publisher
Atlantis Studios, whose editorial focus is to produce and promote
mainstream, full color science fiction, fantasy, superhero, and
action-adventure comics and distribute them to a world-wide audience.
“Part of our mission is to provide an avenue for innovative new talent
in the most cost-effective way possible.” said James Watson, Editor in
Chief of Atlantis Studios, “I’ve been a fan of JAYMES work since the
first Haley comic back in 1997. Thanks to the internet, we now have a
way to showcase this fun and thought-provoking series to fans around
the world.”
HALEY will begin it's run in March with the origin story "Learning to
Land," which will be posted on-line at
www.atlantisstudios.net
in the ‘Webcomics’ section. New pages will be posted weekly.
