“Librarian” Graphic Novel at San Diego Comic Con
July 1, 2006In
preparation for the December 2006 broadcast premiere of the
much-anticipated sequel to Turner Network Television (TNT) ’s
“Librarian: Quest of the Spear”, Atlantis Studios will be previewing
art from the graphic novel adaptation during the Comic Con
International in San Diego, California July 19-23, 2006.
The graphic novel, “The Librarian: Return to King Solomon’s Mines”
is being developed in cooperation with Dean Devlin’s Electric
Entertainment, and continues the action-packed adventures of Flynn
Carson, a man charged with protecting a repository of humanity’s
greatest secrets.
“Return to King Solomon’s Mines” is the first in a series of
original “Librarian” comics to be produced by Atlanta-based Atlantis
Studios, a company specializing in the production of comics and
graphic novels based on science fiction, fantasy, and
action-adventure licensed properties. The graphic novel is scheduled
to be available to retailers in late November 2006.
In addition to previewing the “Librarian”, Atlantis will showcase
art from upcoming original series Infected and Karyzma: Dragon
Tamer, and feature exclusive special guests Paul Vincent Fusco
(Soldiers of the Dead), Herman Franck (Ice Dragon), and Richard
Hamilton (Return of the Super-Pimps). As part of its mission to give
new talent real-life opportunities, editor-in-Chief James Watson
(Paula Peril) will be on hand to review portfolios and meet
interested artists and writers.
In partnership with Planet Lara, the world’s largest Tomb Raider fan
site, Atlantis will welcome special guests Valerie Perez and
director Nick Murphy, producers of the ambitious Lara Croft fan film
“Tears of the Dragon”, to share footage from their completed film,
and distribute a prequel comic created by Atlantis Studios
